Sharing Italy with others has always been our favorite part of this journey. We love introducing travelers to the food, the traditions, the charming towns, and the everyday moments that make this country feel like home. It’s the little things that stay with you: a long lunch that turns into an afternoon, or a laugh shared with people who were strangers a few days before. We’ve seen how a trip like this brings people together, and that’s what we look forward to most. This 2Italia tour hosted by Ilene and Gary (of Our Italian Journey blog) was truly a spectacular experience. The tour strikes the perfect balance of activities that include vineyard and cellar visits, wonderful wine tastings, amazing food, a fantastic cooking class and a really fun rafting trip (nobody got wet!) The accommodations were in perfect locations that provided us with walkable access to the beautiful city of Verona and a gorgeous authentic Tuscan vineyard stay at Villa Tiboldi on the Malvira Estate. I should note that we were a group of nine which felt like a perfect number. Everyone had fun and there were plenty of laughs along the way. We enjoyed every minute of this amazing week in Italy and having every detail curated in a way that our only job was to enjoy it. My 2Italia Food and Wine Tour in Piedmont and Verona was the trip of a lifetime! I loved that we were a smaller group and that we ventured out to places the weren’t necessarily in the middle of busy tourist areas. The food and wine tour was the trip of a lifetime. My longtime friend and I have always wanted to travel to Italy. This tour gave us the jump start we needed, since we had never traveled over seas. We stayed an additional 8 days. Our group was wined, dined and taken care of for 8 days. Our guides Ilene and Gary were fabulous. They were there for us even before the tour, helping us navigate all the what nots of traveling over seas. Our accommodations were amazing, especially the Villa in the middle of vineyards as far as the eye could see. We all became very good friends and drank, laughed and ate our way across northern Italy. We had drivers and didn’t have to think about a thing. From a cooking class in the countryside, 5 course meals , wine tasting with tours , a rafting trip (with wine), and more good food with new friends. Ilene and Gary were there for us the whole time.
