This technology travel trip will help you get the most out of your precious vacation. It is impossible to learn before leaving home about all the beautiful art you are going to see. It would be difficult to remember who sculpted or painted each of the many magnificent pieces.
Rather than carrying around a book, iTunes has free podcasts from Rick Steves for different sightseeing places. Many sights do offer audio tours for a small fee – but not all. Download podcasts that are relevant to your cities and sights you plan to visit. For example, before leaving we downloaded the Frari Church (23:23 minutes) from iTunes under Venice Italy Audio Tour. We walked at our own speed, pausing when necessary, listening to Rick give insight about each chapel in the church, the art pieces, and sculptures. It really was informative looking at exactly what he was telling us about. Same thing for walking The Forum in Rome.
Technology is a wonderful tool if you use it.
