So, here we are in March 2015… getting hot here in Phoenix, AZ already. Enjoying the windows being open and dreading summer to begin.
Gary’s trip to Prescott to visit our “Italian Journey Lawyer” went pretty well. He brought originals that needed to be given to her and the papers from Homeland Security turned out to be incorrect. So now we are on to the next step and hopefully, this will be the last piece of information needed for dual citizenship.
Regardless, our desire to live in Italy (even for one year) will be next year. We are in the process of downsizing and fixing up the house to be put on the market for sale this year. I am proud to say that I have downsized and eliminated much of my personal stuff. Excess jewelry, shoes, pocketbooks have all found a new home and I am happy to be living with less. It’s amazing to me how much you accumulate in time. Doing the same with household items.
Looking forward to our May appointment with the Italian Consulate in Los Angeles, CA when hopefully – (keep your fingers crossed) we get to present our file and be processed for Italian Visas.
UPDATE: So I looked back at this post and how nieve we were to think it would be “next year” before we were able to move to Italy. I am currently updating this as of March 21, 2018, and we are still waiting for the Consulate. My advice for anyone trying to obtain dual citizenship with Italy is to have patience. LOTS of patience.
